An Artists walk at Yarner called  'Assemblage' I went last weekend it is also on 24/25 November 10-3 

This' shelter' was rather beautiful, I hope the rain stops as it won't be quite the same !

Back making Pods

I am finally back making Pods again, Hurrah! 
Pods in various stages are  starting to take over my studio , I didn't realise how much I missed making them 

Next Silk Class

Ivybridge Banner

The Community of Ivybridge created a fabulous Banner yesterday , today there is the opportunity to take part in the Big Draw with Nami Hart creating 'The River Erme dreaming' using aborignal dots on locally sourced paper, she is in the Leisure centre till 4pm

Ivybridge Arts Festival

Clay Mini Beasts

Tuesday and Wednesday, this week, I am doing a school residency at St Catherine's looking at Mini beasts and their habitats in the school  grounds, but this time in Clay ,I am actually working with real clay for a change, so it will be good to decorate them and get them glazed and fired so that they last 

Mini Beasts

I have 4 day residency this week, in a primary school in Kingsteignton making big banners with the theme of the environment , lots of mini beasts need to be found and they have a lovely pond and a secret garden to find everything in first to do some drawings.

Sunshine Workshop

Another beautiful day, just perfect for doing sun printing during a Silk painting workshop - Hydrangea's flowers and leave's print really well. 

Cycle race

The tour of Britain is taking place today - if you hadn't heard , unfortunately it passes through Poundsgate so making it difficult to visit Hannaford Workshop - but don't give up I am sure by this afternoon it will be okay again! 

Next Silk Workshop

The 15 September workshop is now full, maybe they missed me over the summer?  or is it the lunches they missed?

However there are lots of spaces available for Saturday 22 September -then the following dates in October are Saturday 13 October and Saturday 20 October - also open to evening workshops and during the week classes if you can get a group of people together. 

Big Draw in Ivybridge

The next Devon Artist Network Family Art Workshop is arranged to coincide with the Ivybridge Arts Festival and The  Big Draw which happens nationally all over Britain during October as part of the campaign to get people drawing. 

It takes place on Sunday 7 October in Ivybridge Leisure centre , between 10 and 4pm 
It is a free event , but parents and guardians are requested to be with the children at all times please. 

Naomi Hart will be running the workshop 'To create a large communal drawing, a ‘River Erme Dreaming’ canvas based on Aboriginal Australian ‘dot-painting/drawing’ techniques, learnt by the artist while working and researching in Australia.'

Next Family workshop

With lots of children and  families taking part we made two great banners at the Contemporary Craft Fair yesterday , my next drop in Silk Banner making workshop is Saturday 14 July at Chudfest in Chudleigh between 10 - 12 in the Marquee
There will be a bookable workshop  on Tuesday 17 July also in the Marquee in Chudleigh between 2 - 4pm so come and have a go on the Saturday and then book up for the Tuesday !

Children's Tent at Craft Fair

This is the Contemporary Craft Fair weekend of fun for the Children 
Isabella Whitworth is taking her 'Fleece First' workshop to the Children's tent so they can create their own mini weaving! Sponsored by Devon Artists Network and Devon County Council 

Appledore Visual Arts Festival SHOAL

Devon Artists Network supported workshop during the Appledore Visual Arts Festival takes place on Saturday 9 June 11- 5 near slipway on the Quay SHOAL with artist Karen Hawkins
to celebrate the fishing industry and marine life, you can help make an installation of underwater fish, visible under the sea as the tide submerges the work. As more people get involved the installation will grow to for a 'shoal' an impressive sight in any ocean. 

Simon Print workshop

The Jubilee Celebrations in Ivybridge carried on in a new location of the Watermark because of the bad weather , Simon had a busy time with his Print workshop and much fun was had by lots of  families ! 
His next workshop for Devon Artist Network is on Wednesday 15 August at the Thelma Hulbert Gallery in Honiton - don't miss it! 

Large Silk Flags

The day at Yarner Wood went really well with lots of families coming to enjoy the event, the weather was fabulous and everyone worked hard and created a couple of colourful group Flags to help celebrate the 60 years of being a nature reserve for Natural England 

There was another flag started which will need finishing off at some point

Cockington Promotion

June is the month at Cockington for a Bridget Arnold Showcase of Smoke fired Ceramics in The Devon Guild Shop at The Sea Change Centre at Cockington Court. 
If you haven't visited the centre before , this must be the month to go ! 

 There will be a whole range of work there from small hangings, like the above image, to Spheres  candle spheres and Candle Pods - lots of them are in the  turquoise range. 

RAMM exhibition

There is an exhibition in the Cafe in RAMM of the lovely tiles and jugs  made with the children at the West Exe children's centre before Christmas - all done in the style of Harvest Jugs 

It is on until the end of May, if you want to see it !

Yarner Wood Open Day

On Saturday 26 May there is another Spring Open Day in the Wood 
I will be making giant Silk Banners in the Woodland Centre - This is a Free drop in event with lots more happening as well !
